Spending more time in the house this week has led me to take some interesting images that reflect the "humanity" of this great house.!!! Hope you enjoy these and we'll look deeper into the history of the people living there next week..........(all 10 images are in the BIG HOUSE section of the site)
Thinking about those first 35 years ......
This week I've spent time at the Big House; working on the dust be gone project!! This immersion in the space has me reflecting on the lives and the people and families that have come through the doors of this house. The photos uploaded to the Images and Big House sections of the site are some details I noticed during the pauses of dust removal, mopping, scrubbing etc....
The Big House and the Kalanj Family
This week there are some family pictures of the house in the 1930's added to the gallery and the heading of Big House. I'm grateful to Kim the great grandaughter of Kalanj's who lived at 851 from 1926 - 1934 for the family photos! Thanks again Kim.
While waiting for a Development Permit......
We are back to focusing on the history of the Big House and who lived there as WWI comes to an end and stability begins with the Kalanj family in 1926.
